Degrees and Certifications:
Nationally Certified School Psychologist
Hello Cougar Families,
I am so happy to be back at Kingsway Elementary this school year and look forward to working with our students and staff. Last year was my first year working in the Charlotte County Public Schools and working in the state of Florida. I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and this will be my 22nd year working as a school psychologist. I spent the majority of my career working in New Hampshire and held many leadership roles in various schools. I have an advanced graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders and have worked in the past developing specialized programming for such students.
Collaborating and providing consultation with teachers, parents and leaders is a key component of my role as a school psychologist. I am a member of the MTSS team and assist with initial Section 504 Plans. My primary role is to support the Exceptional Student Services (ESE) department by evaluating students to determine if they qualify for specialized instruction. As a school psychologist I help to determine a student's learning profile, identifying strengths and weaknesses. This assessment is used to provide information to both the student's teachers and parents to enhance their learning experience. I also provide individual and group counseling to students and have been trained as a Check and Connect mentor. I consult with teachers to support positive behaviors in the classroom and promote student mental health.
I live in Port Charlotte with my husband. We own Siesta Flurries which is a mobile shaved ice business. Siesta Flurries is proud to serve the community and often supports fundraisers and non-profit groups. Most of our free time is spent running the business but we do enjoy going to the beach and traveling.
It is my privilege to be a part of the Kingsway Elementary community and I look forward to carrying the banner for student success!
