We’re in the final two weeks of the school year. Students are continuing with their end of year assessments this week. Our 5th graders will be taking their FCAT Science test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please make sure all your 5th graders are here and on time for these important assessments. We start testing first thing in the morning right after the bell, so all students need to be in their seats, ready to go at the 8:20 bell.
On Thursday this week, we’ll be practicing our monthly safety drills. Please remind students that these are just drills, and they need to listen to all adult directions to make sure we’re prepared in the event of a true emergency.

I wanted to congratulate all our AltoGators on an amazing concert on Thursday night. It was so great to see our students sharing their talents. The AltoGators will be celebrating with a pizza party on Tuesday afternoon from 2:50-4:00.
Also on Tuesday, we will have our monthly SAC and PTO meetings starting at 6pm. Our SAC meeting will be held virtually so the link will be shared through Remind on Tuesday. We hope to see you there!
Our newsletter club will have their final meeting on Wednesday, and our decorating club will meet for the final time on Thursday.
We’re continuing with our FSA assessments this week. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking their FSA Math assessment on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Please make sure your student gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast so they are ready to show their knowledge. Testing begins right after the bell, so please make sure students are on time and ready to go by 8:20am.

I can’t believe it’s already May. We have a lot of fun activities and important assessments coming up, so please make sure students are at school all day every day so they don’t miss out on anything. Remember to check your child’s backpack and agenda every night for important notes and reminders. Also stay connected to our Facebook account, school website, and teacher communication mobile apps like Remind and Dojo.
Let’s take a look at this week. Our 4th and 5th graders are taking their FSA Reading Test on Tuesday and Wednesday. These tests start first thing in the morning, so please make sure students get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time.
Our AltoGators chorus concert is Thursday night at 6pm. These students have been working really hard to practice, and we can’t wait to see them shine. Mrs. McQueary will be holding dress rehearsals Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday after school this week for final preparations.
Other clubs meeting this week are Girls on the Run and our Gritty Gator running clubs. They will be meeting Monday and Wednesday after school. Gardening and Literacy Clubs are also meeting Wednesday after school.
Mrs. Underwood wants to remind everyone that this is the last week for our Title One Family Center. All books need to be returned this week. She has a special summer prize pack for all students that have participated in the reading center this school year.

Tomorrow night is our PTO sponsored BINGO Night from 5:30-7:30 in the cafeteria. A snack and a drink are included in your $2 admission. Extra food and snack items will be available for cash purchase. Our PTO has all sorts of fun and prizes in store, so you don’t want to miss it.
If your child is in one of our leadership clubs, listen carefully. Our recycling club and AltoGators will meet on Tuesday after school. Our gardening, literacy, newsletter, and running groups will all meet on Wednesday after school. Our AltoGators and our coin collecting club will meet on Thursday after school.
We’re ending the week with our Family Center. Stop by Mrs. Underwood’s Title One Resource Center on Thursday after school or Friday before school to check out a fun book for the week. Students also get to choose a keeper book every time they visit. On Thursday this week, the Charlotte County Library will be here for a special Earth Day presentation. We hope you see you there!

Our 2nd graders are taking their swimming field trips this week. Please make sure all 2nd graders bring a change of clothes and a towel to school each day for these activities.
Most of our regularly scheduled clubs will be meeting this week, however, Mrs. Underwood will not be able to meet with our literacy club tomorrow. She also will not be able to open the Family Center this week, as she will be off campus. She looks forward to seeing you all next week.

We’ve officially begun the 4th quarter. Quarter 3 report cards will be coming home with students tomorrow. Grades are also LIVE in FOCUS - our Parent Portal. If you’d like to request a conference, please contact your child’s teacher
Our 3rd quarter awards ceremonies will take place this week. Students receiving awards were notified last week. We can’t wait to celebrate the successes of our gators!
Tuesday: 2nd grade at 9:00 and 3rd grade at 10:00
Wednesday: Kindergarten at 9:00 and 1st grade at 10:00
Thursday: 4th grade at 9:00 and 5th grade at 10:00
We’re also celebrating school attendance this week. Mrs. Shier has a fun week planned for our students starting tomorrow with Dress for Success Day. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed in the attire of the career they want in their future. We can’t wait to see what their dreams look like! Check out the attached flyer for the rest of the week’s activities! We’ll be tracking attendance all week long, and the grade level with the highest percentage of attendance will get a popcorn party on Friday afternoon! Make sure your child is here all day every day to maximize their learning.

Last, but certainly not least, Mrs. Underwood has a few fun activities planned as well. On Wednesday evening from 5:30-6:30, she’ll be hosting a parent workshop on how to turn everyday activities into STEAM opportunities. This is sure to be a great workshop for parents, so make sure you have RSVPd. Contact Mrs. Underwood for any questions. She is also hosting a special guest in the Family Center this week. On Thursday after school, the Peace River Wildlife Center will be in the Family Center. They always bring fun critters so stop by for a visit and to get a book for the weekend.

Good evening, Meadow Park families. This is Mrs. Elek with your weekly reminders. I hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing and fun Spring Break. Let’s take a look at what’s going on back on campus this week.
Our Girls on the Run and Let Me Run students will practice on Monday and Wednesday after school. AltoGators will practice Tuesday and Thursday after school.
Also on Tuesday, our recycling team will meet, and our PTO has arranged a spirit night at Tropical Smoothie Café on Peachland. Take your family into the restaurant or go through their drive thru between 4 and 8pm, and a portion of your bill will come right back to Meadow Park.
Our Gardening and Literacy Clubs will meet on Wednesday after school. Our Decorating and Coin Collecting clubs will meet on Thursday after school.
Also on Thursday, we’ll be having our Monthly safety drills. We recently had a new security system installed in our building. With this new technology, we will now have an automatic announcement with safety instructions along with strobe light notifications with the push of just one button. This will be our first drill with this new system, so please remind your child that although some things may seem different with this system, the procedures will be the same. Remind them to listen to adult directions and make sure to take the drills as seriously as a real emergency situation.
Remember that our Family Reading Center will be open on Thursday after school and Friday before school. Students can come get a book for the week as well as a keeper book. On Thursday afternoon, we'll have a visit from a Pediatric Dentist to teach our students about dental hygiene.
We’re ending the week with our Clean Up Crew meeting Friday after school.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all our families that joined us Friday night for our annual carnival. Our PTO worked so hard to put this event on. I’m still smelling whipped cream everywhere I go. They are such a great group of parents and we’re so lucky to have them. The Book Fair is here this week. Students can shop all week in the media center. Mrs. Colleen is also promoting some dress up days starting tomorrow with Mismatched Monday. She’s also hosting a Family shopping event on Tuesday evening from 5-7. Bring your whole family and come shopping together. Mrs. Underwood will also be there with Family Board Games.
We have a few after school events this week. Girls on the Run will practice Monday and Wednesday. Our AltoGator chorus will practice Tuesday and Thursday. Our recycling team will meet Tuesday and our Literacy Club will meet Wednesday.
Also this week, our students are continuing with their mid-year assessments. Please make sure your child is at school all day every day to maximize their learning. Our morning bell rings at 8:20 and school is dismissed at 2:50. Lots of exciting learning takes place all day long, so thank you for making school a priority for your child.

Let’s take a look at our week. On Tuesday, we’ll be having our monthly safety drills. Please remind students that these are only drills, but it’s still important to behave appropriately and listen to staff directions.
After school on Tuesday, our recycling team will meet. Our gardening club, literacy club, and Girls on the Run will all meet on Wednesday. Our coin collecting club will meet on Thursday, and last but certainly not least, our Alto Gator chorus will continue meeting on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
Our family center will be open Thursday after school and Friday before school. Mrs. Underwood has all sorts of books for you to choose from. All students that visit with their grown up can check out a book for the week as well as select a keeper book to stock their home library. This is a great resource for families, so stop on by this week.
Ending our week, we’re hosting our annual MPE Carnival. This Friday from 4-7 we will have food, games, inflatables, and all sorts of fun stuff. Bring the whole family! This is always one of our favorite events of the year, so we can’t wait to see you all there!

Our students have quite a few activities going on this week. Chorus students will meet Tuesday and Thursday after school. Also on Tuesday, the recycling team and newsletter club will also meet. On Wednesday, the literacy club will meet.
Girls on the Run will practice Monday and Wednesday. Ms. Bishop is also starting a running club for boys. This group will begin in late March, but registration is open now.
Thursday night is our school-wide Math night beginning at 5:00. Our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students will be in the cafeteria doing Math and Movement activities. These are fun games the whole family can play together. Mrs. Underwood can’t wait to see you all there. Our 3rd through 5th graders have the opportunity to participate in a pirate-themed math escape room. Participating students should have already turned in their RSVP for either 5:00 or 6:00. We will have all the materials prepped and ready for you by Thursday night. We can’t wait to see all our gators escape those swashbuckling pirates!
Remember that there is no school this Friday or next Monday. Staff and students can enjoy a nice 4-day weekend.
Mark your calendars for next Friday, Feb. 25th. It’s our annual school carnival. Our PTO is hard at work organizing food, games, inflatables, and all sorts of fun things. I heard a rumor that Mr. Loge may be on the receiving end of some whipped cream pies as well.

We hope everyone had fun at our Science Fair and STEM night on Friday. It was so great to see so many MPE families having fun with science! We appreciate Mrs. Magagnos and her team for putting on this event. Mark your calendars for Thursday, February 17th for our Math Night. The flyer for this event will be coming home this week.
The weather is starting to get a little chilly. Please remember to put your child’s name on the tags inside their sweatshirts and jackets in case they get misplaced on campus. Our lost and found is located in the cafeteria. If your child is missing something, have them check there at breakfast or lunch.
Looking at this week, our AltoGator Chorus starts. These 4th and 5th graders will be staying afterschool with Mrs. McQueary until 4pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure you are on time to pick your student up at 4:00. The Recycling team also meets this week on Tuesday afternoon and the literacy club meets on Thursday.
Class picture day is Wednesday. All classes will pose for a photo with their entire class. You can purchase these using the flyer that went home last week.

Our mid year assessments continue this week. As long as they are healthy, please make sure your child is at school all day every day. Our tardies and early releases have been increasing lately. Remember school begins at 8:20 and ends at 2:50. Please schedule doctor appointments and other activities outside these times to make sure your child doesn’t miss important instruction.

On Wednesday, we’re going to hold our monthly safety drills. Students will practice active threat procedures as well as fire drill procedures. Bus riders will also be practicing evacuation drills. Please remind your student to take these drills seriously and follow all staff directions.
After school on Wednesday, the literacy club will meet. Our coin collecting club will meet on Thursday. Our clean up crew will be working Friday after school.
Our Family Center will be open Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Mrs. Underwood has some great books for students to check out, and remember that every time you visit, you get to select a keeper book as well. We hope you see you there this week.
