Dear Team Aynes Families,
I hope you know how much I care for each and every one of your children and their families. Thank you for taking the time to speak, email, and text with me this week. I will be available during my office hours by email/Remind—you can even call through remind.
Just making sure everyone is set to begin eLearning on Monday 3/30/2020. To do this, please help your son/daughter to login to the various accounts to ensure they have access to these programs. Login instructions for your child’s Classlink launchpad to use iReady, MyOn, AR(linked to MyOn, Teach Town, and Goodgle Classroom (linked to myON) have been posted on our multi-grade webpage. Please reply to this Remind or email message to confirm that your student was able to log in to all the programs. Students are used to logging into AR through a different icon. Please let them know that they will have to access AR through myON to receive credit for completing MUST DO assignments. Their username for myON will be their student number and password is ABC. Their user name for Teach Town is their first name last name initial, with no space in between. Mine would be VirginiaA. The password for this sight is a 4 digit number birth month birth date. Mine would be 0506.
For the week of March 30 – April 4, 2020, your student will need to complete the iReady Math diagnostic followed by the Reading diagnostic to set their instructional path. It will be available automatically when they first login. Please allow ample time for this assessment and provide them with breaks if needed. However, please watch over them to make sure they are taking the time to read every question and figure out the math problems. Allow the student to complete this assessment independently as it will create a learning path based on their individual needs. Please make sure they have paper and pencil to do the math. When the diagnostic is complete we encourage them to get familiar with MyOn and Read, Read, Read! Please be sure AR tests are taken and they earn at least 2 points this week. No iReady minutes are required this week after the diagnostics are completed. Students should also log onto Teach Town and Google Classroom, just to explore what’s there and to be sure they’re able to. I am able to receive messages from students in Google Classroom.
For the week starting 4/6/2020 and each week following, your student will need to:
- Complete 180 minutes of iReady Reading
- Complete 180 minutes of iReady Math
- Read using the large assortment of books on myOn and take a comprehension check on AR for the books they complete. We will be monitoring your child’s progress and would like to see your child read for 100 minutes per week and earn 2 AR points per week.
- Complete a session of Teach Town which is based on their IEP Goals.
- Check into Google Classroom for extras.
I know this may be a difficult time for our VES families. If you need any additional assistance please reach out. I will do my best to support your child as they continue their education even during these uncertain times.
Thank you for your support!
